This topic is so dear to my heart because once I was introduced to personal development, it changed my life and I'll never stop investing in myself. It's exactly what my mentor Jim Rohn says, "Success is not something you pursue, it is attracted by the person you become" and "Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job." Most of what you have today you have attracted by becoming the person you are today.
Personal development is the foundation of our business and this business of personal development lasts a lifetime. We must learn and explore the depths of our true potential. Here's a good question to ask. If you could do better, should you? I think almost everybody who strives for success would answer the question in the positive. If you could improve your health, shouldn't you do that? If you could learn more, shouldn't you do that? If you could earn more, shouldn't you do that? If you could improve your relationships and spirituality, shouldn't you do that?
I think that is what success is really all about. It is not just a destination set for everybody to try and go for. It is like Zig Ziglar said, "Improving in every area of your life to see if you can't with satisfaction at the end of the day, week, month, and year say "I have made excellent progress this year, for myself, for my family, for my business, and my health." I think that kind of success everybody recognizes is legitimate and something we should all strive for.
Investing in yourself is critical to your success. That is why it is imperative to refine your philosophy in order to be able to make better choices. With a powerful personal philosophy guiding our every step, we become more aware of our choices. It all starts with our thinking, our belief system. Your thoughts are the primary creative forces in your life. You create the entire world by the way you think. All the people and situations of your life have only the meaning you give them by the way you think about them. And when you change your thinking, you change your life, sometimes in seconds.
The most important principle of personal or business success is simply this: You become what you think about most of the time. It is not what happens to you but how you think about what happens to you that determine how you feel and react. It is not the world outside of you that dictates your circumstances or conditions. It is the world inside you that creates the conditions of your life.
Emersion in personal development helps you outline your dreams, builds the strength of your character, and improves the quality of your life while facing the challenges and rigors of your journey of success. Personal development is the access to your personal goals. If you want to make millions, you must think like a millionaire. If you want to help thousands, you must learn to affect and lead the masses. And once you have the information, it's all about what you're willing to do to take advantage of it.
Investing in yourself is the best thing you can do for your business. If you were to start today to read the books, listen to the audio, keep a journal, attend the classes, listen more and observe more, then today would be the first day of a new life leading to a successful future in your network marketing business.
