Did you ever hear about the term 'Mind Movies', and are you probably wondering what these are and how they work? In this article I'm going to share with you the basic thoughts behind a Mind Movie and how to best create your own.

The Mind Movie is an invention of Natalie & Glen Ledwell and Ryan Higgins -- it's basically a movie on a certain topic made of to this topic adapted pictures and affirmations. The basic idea is to get your thinking and mindset right so that you start focusing on your goals, dreams, and the things you want to achieve in life, instead of centering your attention on failure, disbelief, and undesirable actual states.

It's advisable to make a habit of watching your movie twice a day -- after you wake up and before you go to bed. There are loads of topics a Mind Movie can be about, in fact, you can make one on each topic you are having issues with. Let's say you desire nothing more than a Ferrari, but your thinking is set on the amount of money that it costs and that you'll never have or get enough money in order to buy it.

Well, in this case I'd recommend that you create two Mind Movies. Firstly, on your wish, or the thing that you absolutely want (in this case the Ferrari) and secondly, on your thoughts concerning the money.

Starting with your Ferrari, you simply look for pictures that display it in a way that really attracts you in order to strengthen your visualization of this object. Furthermore, I also recommend you to choose some pictures that represent the actual outcome for you that is accompanied by having it, like for instance the feeling of joy and power, to be the king of the word, and so on. And don't be afraid that it might sound ridiculous, because it's only important that it feels great to you and that it becomes more and more real! You would also want to make up some statements to put under your pictures, or to record statements that fully express what you desire -- I highly recommend that.

Make sure to only make positive statements. Instead of saying "I don't have any existential worries" you should rather use a phrase like "I have more money than I could ever spend, and I'm able to effort whatever I want", or so. For otherwise your subconscious mind will focus on the phrase "existential worries", and in this phrase there unfortunately is only the image of the issue that you're having, but no alternative and no possible positive outcome on which it could focus.

Best you state your wishes as if they were already true and you already had what you wanted, so your subconscious mind considers your wish as being already granted. Thus it stops sabotaging you, for the negative thoughts are replaced by the supportive and positive ones you're setting your mind on, as long as you do not intensify your negative thoughts as well.

The second aspect from our example is the money issue. Basically you do the same thing as before with the Ferrari, but of course you should treat this topic a bit differently. Again, look for pictures that fit best with this topic, and don't forget to take the outcome into consideration you want to achieve by having the money. You would probably choose pictures that embody wealth for you. Of course this is important, but even more important is that you also create statements that tell what you expect from having that money. For instance, state that you have financial freedom, and mention a number that represents this financial freedom to you, or state that you are able to effort whatever you'd like to have, and use illustrations to express that.

So, by now you're probably wondering which aspect is more important, and if it was more useful focusing on only one of them, maybe the money issue. I think I can answer this. Of course it seems as if the money part is more important, for without money you wouldn't be able to buy your new car. It's true, you'll need the money in order to buy a Ferrari, but the subconscious mind is very tricky. It is important to keep in mind that before any great accomplishment there was a goal. And interestingly, your subconscious mind works better for you if there's a drive that makes this money necessary, and the more excitement is accompanied by the idea of having it, the stronger your drive becomes, and the better your outcome will be.
