Reasons of Early Morning Sleeplessness

Many people experience drowsiness and sleepy in the morning. It is due to a specific disease or disorder. People feel sleepy in the morning because of a sleeping disorder at night before.

Research and medical examination prove that there are people who sometimes feel sleepy in the morning due to anxiety and stress. For sound sleep, you need good mental health and wellbeing. Let’s find out the reasons for sleepiness in the morning.

  1. Hypersomnia

Hypersomnia is a disease which makes you feel drowsy and sleepy in the morning and throughout the day. Here you are struggling to keep the productivity through the day as you feel tired always.
The problem is in the brain which functions and controls your sleep. It may also cause due to excessive intake of drugs or alcohol.
Restlessness, anxiety, reduction in appetite, slow thinking is some of the possible symptoms of the disease.
To prevent this disorder, curtail the intake of drugs and alcohol. Moreover, stop the habit of using the phone or social media before going to bed.

  1. A disorder called restless leg Syndrome

The restless leg syndrome occurs if there is some discomfort in your leg. You feel to move your leg over and over again, which disturbs sleeping habit, thus, making you feel sleepy in the morning.
A lower level of neurotransmitter in the human body called dopamine is the cause of such syndrome.
Consumption of adequate amounts of vitamin B12 and iron in food can protect you from this disorder.

  1. Mouth snoring and breathing

The primary cause of sleepiness in the morning is mouth snoring and breathing at night. It is because you are unable to receive enough oxygen for relaxed sleep. There are many ways to cure this habit such as avoiding alcohol, maintain an appropriate weight and eat healthier.

  1. Insomnia

Insomnia is a sleeping disorder where people find it difficult to get sleep at night. It may happen due to stress, unhealthy weight, age, depression, anxiety, etc
To prevent insomnia, exercise daily, quit smoking and take a healthy diet.

  1. Morning depression

Morning depression occurs due to disturbance of cardian rhythms, which are responsible for regulating your body 24 hours; that makes you sleep at night and stay alert throughout the day.In case you are suffering from morning depression, you must consult a doctor immediately.

  1. Bruxism

Bruxism is a disorder that occurs because of clenching of the jaw or grinding of teeth without being aware. It happens due to stress and anxiety. If it is left untreated, it may lead to severe jaw and teeth pain.
You can visit a dentist for guidance, or chewing gum is also a beneficial treatment.

  1. Central Sleep Apnea

The sleep disorder by name Central Sleep Apnea is a result when one stops breathing while in the sleep at night. The reason behind this condition is due to the failure of the brain to send the right signals to the muscles that are in control of the procedure of breathing. This is another reason why one feels extremely sleepy during the morning, and has a very bad headache. This can also result in creating difficulty to concentrate on work or studies during the day, as while you are sleeping at night, the procedure of breathing is interrupted. The shortage of oxygen will wake you up at night many times.

  1. Narcolepsy

Narcolepsy makes you drowsy and sleep often. This is a variation of nervous disorder. Even though this is not a deadly disease, one must give the right attention to the disorder. The real reason for this disorder is still unknown. But studies have shown that those affected with Narcolepsy have a very low amount of Hypocretin, which is a kind of brain protein.

  1. Acid Reflux

This is a disorder that makes the content of the stomach to move into the esophagus, in a backward movement. The symptoms of this disorder are having a morning mouth and when all of a sudden you have bad taste in the mouth. It is seen that a majority who suffer from sleeping disorder tend to suffer from acid reflux.
