Climate Change From Human Behavior

Governments from one hundred and ninety five countries are meeting to warn the world that climate change from human behavior will continue to cause tremendous problems regarding severe weather related issues if something isn’t done throughout the world to slow the release of carbon dioxide into the earth’s atmosphere. Our already dwindling food supply will cause a decrease of sea life in our oceans and waterways, severe heat waves due to increased and unusual heat waves, droughts in the bread baskets of the world, tornadoes and hurricanes along with huge floods. Action needs to be taken and the switch to renewable and clean energy such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, and geothermal are the answers to carbon based combustible fuel.

This meeting in Stockholm, Sweden this week will result in a report that will also explain why global warming has slowed but the emissions of greenhouse gasses has increased in this century. This meeting is called the Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change (IPCC) which will present the reasons concerning climate change from human behavior must be reduced in order to stop the negative results of carbon dioxide being pumped into our atmosphere. Their report will present a summary to governments and the United Nations. The hopes are that it will work out a deal with the United Nations by the end of 2015 to solve some of these issues.

Since the 1950s, the burning of fossil fuel is the main cause of global warming. The probability of this has been reported by IPCC as a ninety five percent probability. They are quite sure that this has caused the oceans’ temperatures to increase and has also caused some serious climate change s. The need for the governments of industrialized nations to back alternatives that will reduce greenhouse emissions is more than necessary. Climate change from human behavior as reported by hard statistics may not be enough to spur government agencies on but the extreme weather related disasters and their visual effects may be more effective. In the 21st century temperatures on earth may increase by 8.6F but with changes in those things that produce greenhouse gasses, it can actually come down to 0.5F. This conference is hoping that the governments represented will commit to reducing the earth’s temperature increase to 3.6F which will reduce climate change from human behavior and rehabilitate our planet.

There is no doubt that the way that electricity is produced will curb the output of emissions. The increased use of renewable energy such as solar and wind are hopes for a future of temperature reduction and fewer climate related disasters.
