Attitude towards Money

Maybe you have been told you need an attitude adjustment? Well, I have. Attitude is the way we think, feel and do. Attitudes are generally positive or negative. Keeping a good attitude is something you do in spite of the moods you go through. An attitude is an outlook on life that can help you react more consistently and positively. It can also help you deal with emotions you face on a day-to-day basis.

Your attitude is deeper than your mood. Maybe you feel as if you never have enough and others have opportunities that you do not. Maybe you focus only on others' opportunities. And even if along the way you do get an opportunity, you will not be able to see it.

I am sure you have heard of the Law of Attraction, or that movie, The Secret, which describes the premise. I have to be honest with you. I was not a true believer until my financial collapse. My partner gave me the audio book, Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill which was first published in 1937. I thought there is no way that this would ever apply to my life. It was written during the Great Depression.

I listened to the book anyway. As I listened, I could not believe that almost everything he discussed applied to my life. He wrote chapters on desire and believing you will get what you want. Your subconscious will guide you in the direction of your desire.

It reminded me a lot of the Law of Attraction. As I listened my attitude changed. I began to understand that everyone's chances of getting what we want are, at the core, the same.

We may come from different backgrounds and means, and we may want different things, yet attitude is pinnacle to achievement. As I changed my attitude, I found life to be easier. Yes I still had financial problems. But my attitude was positive. It was an attitude of "Yes, I can get myself out of this mess I created."

I want you to have that same attitude. "You can get yourself out of this mess you created." This attitude began to guide my actions. They were positive actions because my attitude was positive.
