Sticking to morals and values is not easy. Some people prefer living their lives with high moral integrity and some are the opposite of it. It is understandable to live a life of moral integrity but some people constantly resist living such a life. In this article, we try to find out the various reasons why people do not like living a life of moral integrity.

Many people chose to resist moral integrity because they consider it as well masked hypocrisy. They feel that following honesty, integrity and such other things are part of hypocrite society. They consider the system of moral integrity as incomplete. They feel that the structure of moral philosophy is incomplete and they would fail drastically at the time of crisis.

Many people consider moral integrity as a tool and excuse to justify our emotions. Just to feel good about most things or to minimize the bad feeling, moral integrity is misused. Another reason for avoiding moral integrity is the logic that all humans are different. What may seem fair to one person may not be fair to another person. For one person it can be a minor inconvenience while for another person it can be suffering. Therefore, people avoiding moral integrity consider it as an irrational and flawed system.

People resist moral integrity because they feel at the end it is all about your body. Your moral system will not help you in overcoming hunger, cold, illness, etc. Therefore, moral policing is of no use when your stomach is hungry. A human would go to any extent to feed himself, just like an animal would do. Any happy person who is fed the right way and has the basic luxuries of life would have no problem in complying with the morals of society. But what about the people who go through hardships in life every day? So moral integrity for a person who is hungry, poor or suffering in life is of no use.

People who resist morality consider its adoption as a hard and emotional process. They feel that by following moral integrity they will have to live an illusional life and strip their emotions. They consider that following moral integrity would take them away from “spiritual enlightenment” as they will have to stay from the reality of life and live in the world of imagination.

Therefore, it can be said that people who resist living lives of moral integrity have a different perspective on life. They view and consider things differently from those who follow high morals in their lives.
