Can You Really Think Yourself Happy?

Believe it or not, it is within your power to create positive thoughts allowing you to accomplish anything you set out to do. Can you really think yourself happy? The answer is a qualified yes. But first you must choose happiness. Positive thoughts can help you transform the good things you attract and desire. A lot has been written about the effects of our thinking on our life. So, if the positive thinking is going to change our life, we've got to internalize positive thoughts, not the easiest thing to do but it can be done Happiness is not a genetic trait we are born with. It is ingrained in us by our parents and those we love. It is up to us, then, to maintain it, share it, and build our lives around it. Happiness is a result of a decision to be happy. The only factor making you unhappy is your own thoughts. Perhaps you are unhappy with your work or your relationships. We tend to criticize ourselves for our mistakes rather than being happy for the accomplishments. A common source of our negative thinking is our negative childhood training which really can only be eliminated by feeling the unhappy inner child emotions behind our unhappy thoughts, ideas, judgments and beliefs.

Think happy, and you will be happy. A vital step in this process is the immediate replacement of all negative thoughts by the positive ones. The quality of our thoughts decides the quality of the outcomes of our life. Here are the ways in which positive thoughts can help you accomplish many things in life.

Positive thoughts produce positive results. As your faith in yourself and your qualities increases, so will your positive thoughts. When we can be the master of our own mind and control the thoughts in our mind, we can create our own reality based on the continuous thoughts flowing within our mind. We can either complain about our situation, or change it. We can be negative about an event or enthusiastic. President Lincoln once said, “Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” If you really want to think yourself happy, then make up your mind to do so. It may be difficult to think happy in a world filled with hatred and violence. But it’s not impossible. One person, one idea, one positive thought can change the world. How, then, can we make ourselves happy? By being a constant reminder to others that there is goodness in the world.

There is a wonderful poem which clearly explains how unhappiness can prevent us from receiveing our every desire.
You Can If You Think You Can!

If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win, but think you can't,
It is almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will.
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can never win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But soon or late the man who wins,
Is the man who thinks he can.
