In this article I would cover the uniqueness of KP Astrology ( Branch of Vedic Astrology which is known for its accuracy in pin pointing events of future ) and Barack Obama’s horoscope. First of all I will give a brief of KP Astrology and then I will discuss Obama’s Horoscope in line with KP Astrology. KP is astrology was propounded by the famous astrologer Prof. K.S Krishnamurti from India around mid fifties. Krishnamurti Paddhati or KP took the best of Vedic Astrology and Western astrology to derive a unique style of interpreting a horoscope. Unlike traditional Vedic Astrology which gives importance to houses KP gives importance to nakshatras or constellations. Nakshatras are same as the vedic astrology but more importance are given to it. Above all KSK came with a unique discovery of “sub” which is nothing but the sub division of nakshatras. According to KSK a planet is good or bad depends on which nakshatras it is positioned with respect to one’s ascendant and more so which “sub” of that nakshatra it is positioned. This discovery of “sub” has helped KP astrologers around the world to determine whether a planet is malefic or benefic. Earlier the method of determination of the strength of a planet was not scientific.
In vedic astrology the zodiac is divided into 27 nakshatras or constellations each covering 13 degree 20 minutes. Each of these nakshatras are having their own lords. Each of the 7 planets including 2 nodes (rahu and ketu) are the lords of 3 nakshatras in total . For example Ashwini, Magha and Moola are ruled by Ketu. KSK has sub divided these nakshatras into 9 unequal parts (ruled by 7 planets and 2 subs) known as “Subs”. Division of sub is based on Vimshottari Dasa system followed by Vedic Astrologers. Now to judge whether a planet is favorable or unfavorable is based on the position of a planet in that particular zone (degree, minute) of the zodiac with respect to the chart under consideration. Now to site an example according to traditional Vedic Astrology Jupiter should give benefic result if it is positioned in Cancer (where it gets exalted ) but according to KP system it can be malefic as well if it occupies unfavorable constellation and “sub” so much so Jupiter can be benefic even when it is placed in Capricorn ( where it gets debilited ) Now the next question is how to determine whether a planet is favorable or not. One more unique findings of KSK was the unequal division of houses based on Placidus system and in this system house beginning where the cusp has fallen is taken as the House ( bhava ) lord. This could very well be explained citing an example.
Lets take the example of Barack Obama’s horoscope. He was born on 4th August 1961 at 7:24 pm in Honolulu HI, USA, 21n18, 157w51 (source astrodatabank ) If we see his horoscope his ascendant is Capricorn and moon sign is Taurus and presently he is running maha dasa ( time ) of Jupiter . Student of astrology would immediately say Jupiter is the lord of 3rd and 12th in his case so how could he reach to that height in the time of Jupiter. KP astrology has the answer to the question. His 11th and 12th cusp both has fallen in Sagittarius (lord is Jupiter ) and also 2nd cusp as fallen in Pieces (lord is Jupiter ) as result of which entire picture is changed. Now if we see the position of Jupiter, it is in Capricorn ( where it gets debilited ) 7degree 37 minutes as a result it is positioned in the constellation of Sun and sub of Ketu . Again similar contradiction is arising for Capricorn ascendant Leo (lord is Sun) is the eight lord then how come Jupiter positioned in the 8th lord star is beneficial. KP again answers this. In the case of Obama 8th cusp has fallen in Virgo not in Leo. Sun the lord of Leo is positioned in 19 degree 19 minutes Cancer which happens to be the 6th bhava for him. As a result Jupiter is signifying 2, 6, 11, 12 houses and it is one of the best (2,6,11) significance which a planet can have. The 2 (second house ) means accumulation of wealth, 6 (6th house ) means competition and 11 (11th house) means gains or fulfillment of desires as a result the combination of the three indicates success of higher order . Now we will discuss the sub lord Ketu where Jupiter is positioned. Ketu in Obama’ s Horoscope is positioned in Aquarius 4 degree 39 minutes as a result it is in the sign of Saturn and in the constellation of Mars. Saturn in his case is the lord of 1st house and Mars is the lord of 3rd and 10th ( 3rd has fallen in Aries and the 10th cusp has fallen in Scorpio) so Ketu is signifying 1,3 ,10 which in no way is a unfavorable signification. Particularly 10th house signification talks about success in career and fame. So the contradiction of Obama’s Horoscope can be fully explained by KP. There are lots of other factors which also played a role in his rise the main factors has been the dasa of Jupiter which apparently looked unfavorable but in reality a planet Jupiter is very strong and is responsible for his rise to the position of becoming the President of United States of America.
