This is not something that happens only when you are still apart, but you can keenly feel it even when you have actually managed to save your relationship. This is why it is even more disturbing, as you would think you should be feeling the opposite.

It is fairly common to feel this way, given the tumultuous experience you have faced regardless of how happy the relationship is at the moment. Yet it is something that seems completely unreasonable. Your fear was losing your partner. Now that you have managed to get your spouse back in a stable relationship, why should you keep feeling relationships depression?

A relationship that is at the brink of collapse is bound to result in quite a mixture of emotions. Things may be even worse in case cheating was involved.

Understand that healing takes time

Relationships depression may still set in even if there was no case of cheating. The fact that your relationship almost came to an end is enough to cause the depression. The mere thought that your partner considered leaving you is quite painful.

You may also feel depressed just at the thought of how you would have felt had your relationship actually ended. Whatever it is that brings about a break-up, it is very painful.

Be strong

In order to overcome relationships depression, you will need to muster up your strength. Remind yourself that you are where you actually want to be.
