Spiritual stories and teachings have long been employed to sway the multitudes. There are some great leaders from all walks of life who have used the spiritual lessons in just this manner. For many people, hearing teachings and words that they have held dear all their lives strikes a very responsive chord at the center of their spiritual and emotional being. Even many people who have been very quiet and reticent and very reluctant to create a scene will usually respond to a call to action that involves spiritual words and stories.
Martin Luther King is a good example of how spiritual leanings and teachings can be used to create a desire in the population to enact changes in the world. Rev. The Pope is able to use spiritual teachings to bolster the decisions and mandates of the hierarchy within the church itself. Many leaders in religious movements have used spiritual ideas and stories that favor their own positions or decisions. Leaders of different countries also use spiritual stories to help defend their positions when it comes to some of their decisions. If they can use some spiritual basis to bolster their plans and political mandates, it will often sway a large percentage of the population to stand behind them.
