It is important to stay healthy to be able to enjoy our life and be happy. If we are wealthy but not healthy, we will not be able to do all the things we want. There are many things we can do to stay healthy. Here are some of the ideas for your consideration.
We need to take our breakfast every morning as it provides the nutrients and energy to cope with our day. Some studies show that those who take breakfast daily perform better in what they do.
Never skip any meal in a day. When we skip a meal, we tend to over eat in our next meal as we are very hungry. Snack between meals to curb hunger is not a good habit too as the food we take is normally not nutritious. Skipping meals or eating at irregular time will lead to other health problems too.
We shall take a variety of vegetables and fruits. The juices from fruits and vegetables will keep our body hydrated and they provide essential vitamins and nutrients to our body cells. Some fruits like berries also contain antioxidants that help to prevent premature aging.
Do not drink and smoke. These are the unhealthy habits that will damage our body cells and lead to a many chronic diseases like heart problems, stroke, lung cancer, liver cancer and many more. Furthermore, secondhand smoke is a silent killer to us and our love ones.
Exercise daily for at least 30 minutes each time. It is good to do a mixture of low and high impact exercises to train our heart and stamina. For those who are less fit, breeze walking in a garden with fresh air is a better choice compares to running or jogging as the impact to our body joints are lower. One thing to remember is not to exercise in a highly polluted area or along the high traffic flow roads. This will increase the intake of carbon monoxide and other harmful particles which are bad for health.
Lastly, we need to get at least 6 hours sleep a day. The best time to go to bed is during 9pm to 11pm to allow our body cells to repair and rejuvenate. This will give us a fresh mind and look the next morning. On the other hand, taking a short nap in the afternoon is also a good health practice to maintain good eyesight.
