What a Sense of Humor does for Overall Happiness: By Lizzie Ducking- Proverbs 15:13 says a merry heart makes a cheerful countenance and verse 15 says but he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast.
Having a sense of humor prevents us from letting things get us down, I Instead of dwelling on the woes in our life, a good sense of humor will always find something funny and those things will brighten our day.
We know that attending funerals can be sad but I have not attended one that something funny had not happened, I believe that those things happened for a reason, to lighten the sorrow.
Comedians often crack jokes about bad situations that they have experienced and before you know it, the entire room is laughing. We should take patterns after them and find humor in our undesirable situations it will make our heart merrier and we could see that things are not as bad as we thought.
A good sense of humor works like a medicine, there is healing in it. If we have a sense of humor, there will be less pain in our body and less pain could mean more happiness.
A sense of humor is a merry heart, which is a continual feast, and those that have it will always find something to be glad about and the joy of the Lord is our strength. Humor is joy and joy is our strength physically, mentally and emotionally. It engrafts the whole of man.
If we want happiness then we should develop a sense of humor. Some people seem to be born with it and others are not but a sense of humor can be developed simply by finding something humorous in bad situations.
I have a cousin who said that he hardly ever laughs or smile. It shows because he looks older than he really is. I believe that not rejoicing ages us. Having a sense of humor not only makes us feel better but our humor can bring joy to someone else because we are able to make him or her laugh and both would have done something worthwhile to our physical being.
