Where is the best place to pray and when is the best time to pray are two of the frequently asked questions about how to pray effectively. There is no best time to pray. According to the bible, we should pray all the time. Paul's 1st Letter to the Thessalonians, chapter 5, verse 17 tells us to "pray without ceasing."
Praying without ceasing does not mean that we should allot our whole time to praying. What God means is that we can pray to Him anytime and that He is always here for us. Let us remember, praying is not limited in uttering words of prayer, we can also pray with the use of our thoughts alone. God wants us to get into the habit of praying quietly in our souls and about everything, not just when asking Him, throughout the day.
God does not prefer a particular place for us to pray. We can pray anywhere.
It would be a good idea though to allot a time and place to pray. Kind of like a special appointment with God. Some people pray in the morning, before their day starts, which help them deal with the happenings of their daily life.
Others prefer to pray before they sleep, because they can sleep better that way, knowing that they we're able to communicate with God after a long day.
When praying, it is important to choose a place that is quiet and free from distractions. That way, you would be able to communicate better with God. Choose a place you are comfortable in, make it your own personal, private spot with God.
According to the Bible, Jesus prayed in places where he could be alone: in boats, the desert, the wilderness, up the mountains, and in gardens.
The effectiveness of prayer does not lie in a specific time or place that
God prefers. What God would like is for us to always pray and open up to Him. Let us pray, not only when we are in need, but also to give thanks, confess, and praise Him.
