Excess body weight, which limits your mobility can be termed as Obesity. Obesity can affect your day to day activities. It happens when you are consuming more calories and when these do not get burnt out. When your body has calorie intake and when you are not into any kind of physical activity, chances are that you may suffer from this condition. Apart from this reason, there are other causes that can result in obesity.

A poor diet which is rich in calories and fats can lead you to obesity. If you deprive yourself of sleep, then it can lead to hormonal imbalance which can make you hungry. Excess hunger can make you obese. Eating more food will affect you when you get old. As one ages, the metabolic rate goes down, making you put up a lot of weight.  Understand the risks of obesity and trying to get healthy should be our health motto.

Obesity and health risks

Diabetes type 2

The most common disease that those who are obese are prone to get is diabetes type 2. The reason why diabetes type 2 leads to obesity is because the fat cells in the waist area usually secrete hormones as well as other substances that will boost up inflammation. Such an inflammation will make lead the body to be the low responsive to insulin. This directly affects the method in which body metabolizes carbohydrates as well as fats, leading to high level of blood sugar. This can give the person at high risk of getting type 2 diabetes. The most effective way of keeping yourself safe from diabetes type 2 is to eat a more healthy diet and indulge in physical activities.

Respiratory diseases

Obesity and lung diseases are related to a very large extent. Obesity, as per most of the experts is sure to affect the lungs and the respiratory system. Fat that is accumulated in the body will cut short the diaphragm descent, cause expansion of the lungs.  When you have respiratory disease, you are more likely to get asthma as well as obstructive sleep apnea. Studies show that losing the weight could be very much beneficial for the treatment of sleep apnea.

Cancer

The most deadliest of diseases that one can develop while being obese is cancer. It is a fact that the relation between obesity and cancer is still not known to us. Cancer is not a disease that is gained due to the many complications from other diseases. But people with obesity have more chances to get cancer. Studies show that people with obesity are prone to gain various types of cancers such as cancer of pancreas, rectum, breast, kidney, gall bladder and colon. Benefits of eating healthy and working out should be understood so as to avoid obesity to a very large extent.

Coronary heart disease

Coronary heart disease is a common problem when you experience obesity. When the body weight increases, chances are that there are higher risks for coronary heart disease. The plaque buildup in the coronary arteries will lead to coronary heart disease. Arteries usually supply the blood that is very much rich in oxygen to all parts of the body. When they become narrow, there will be a shortage in the blood flow to the muscles of the heart. This can cause a lot of problems that include heart attack too.

Stroke

Stroke is also a probability when you are affected by obesity. As the body mass index is up, you will find plaque buildup in the coronary arteries. The plaque found in the coronary arteries can become narrow and at times will rupture leading to clotting of blood. Such clots are extremely dangerous if formed near the brain, as they are able to block the blood with oxygen supply. Such a state can lead to a stroke.

Other risks of obesity

Obesity can lead to other conditions such as gout, metabolic syndrome, depression, Alzheimer, gallbladder disease, obesity hypo-ventilation syndrome and abnormal level of blood fat. Such conditions can affect the normal life of a person and affect his well being. In short, for leading a healthy life, one should always make sure that the right and proper physical activities are done apart from eating healthy.
