Each and every day, we are bombarded with information overload. Meeting deadlines at work; taking care of our families; trying to decide what to prepare for dinner; multitasking in order to stay on course with our obligations; these are all catalysts which induce stress in our lives. Here are some tips on how to eliminate stress.
When dealing with any stressful situation, it is better to have a sense of humor than to worry and drive yourself crazy. The old saying is true, "Laughter is the best medicine!" Life is hard enough; don't make it harder by being serious all the time.
More often than not, especially as it relates to your job, you may find yourself in a stressful situation. Whether a deadline hasn't been met on time; or you disagree with your boss; or a co-worker is literally driving you nuts - these are stressors which can cause health problems later on unless you deal with them now. A-type personalities are more prone to stress, therefore try not to control everything or everyone.
Stop worrying! It never solves anything. Deal with situations as they occur. Do not anticipate what may or may not happen. Also, lower your expectations; in this way you will never be disappointed. Clutter in one's home can cause stress. Gather your family together and assign tasks. Take one weekend and clean the entire house. Have your kids clean and tidy up their rooms. Have your husband take care of the major clean up, such as the garage or basement.
An organized and clutter-free home does reduce stress in the long run. Exercise is a great stress reducer. Take time out of your day to do some exercise. Walk for about ten minutes during your lunch hour. In addition, a proper diet can go a long way in reducing stress.
Finally, take time out for you. Spend some alone time either listening to soothing music or practicing yoga or breathing exercises. Perhaps take in a movie! It's important that you know how to eliminate stress before it eliminates you.
