Water, it’s everywhere. We’re told to drink 8 glasses of water each day so that we flush toxins out of our bodies. Not many of us actually drink those recommended 8 glasses of water each day, but we know we should. The very same principle applies to the body and spirit needing a spiritual drink of water. This is one of the reasons that yoga and meditation are becoming more sought after, so that the body and spirit get replenished. This is why Oprah has a segment on each show called “Remembering Your Spirit”.
As I was teaching a small class one evening the phrase “Spiritual Drink of Water” came out of my mouth in response to how I define my teaching of energy healing, wellness, and prosperity. I liked the phrase so much that I felt it necessary to ask others how they felt they got their spiritual drink of water. As I was about to put this to paper the phone rang and I asked the person on the other end the question “How do you get your spiritual drink of water?” and then a friend called and I asked her how she got her spiritual drink of water.
Whether we believe it or not we all have a spiritual connection that is available to us at any time during the day or night. The question is, do we take a sip at all or often enough? The other question is how do we, no matter who we are or what we do, replenish our spirit with that spiritual drink?
While you’re reading and possibly participating in some of these suggestions add yours to the list.
1. Eliminating the word h-a-t-e from our vocabulary is one form of nourishing our spirit. 2. Stop what you’re doing right now and think of someone whom you are having difficulty with and say, even if you don’t mean it, “I forgive you”. This will allow you to release pounds of tension from your. 3. Send a handwritten note to someone you care about that you haven’t seen or spoken to in a while and tell them you’re thinking of them. 4. Go to the local park and get on a swing and spend 15 minutes just swinging. Yes, it’s OK to swing as an adult. 5. Take a bath, light some candles, put on some soothing music and float away for 15 minutes. 6. While walking or driving down the street, mentally say, “You are a beautiful soul” to each person you see. The effects are astounding, you always get more than you give. 7. Get a massage after a long day at work. Or if you can talk your partner into it get them to massage even your shoulders or feet. 8. Close your eyes and place the most beautiful flower you’ve ever seen in the center of your chest and then in the center of that the flower place an image of someone you love dearly. Now mentally say I love you so very very much and smile then just sit for a moment and wait as the love returns to you in waves.
A spiritual drink of water truly is nourishment we can not and should not do without. We eat chocolate to ease our stress, why not take a sip of some precious water and fill ourselves with a no calorie substitute that lasts much longer. It will improve your outlook. No matter what your spiritual drink of water take a few moments each and every day to immerse yourself. Even a sip works wonders.
