Having a positive attitude is always important, because, in the words of Lisa Nichols, what we “think” about, we “bring” about. That’s one of my favorite attitude quotes, maybe because it is one of the easiest to remember, but, also because it is true.
If you want proof that it works, you can start by having a positive attitude in the work place. Are you happy at your job? Do you smile most of the time? Do you always smile at your co-workers and customers? If not, then give it a try.
You’ll start to notice some things. It might just be something small, like an unexpected compliment or a pat on the back. It might be something big, like your least favorite co-worker transferring to another office.
Here’s another of my favorite attitude quotes: “You don’t get in life what you want; you get in life what you are.” That one comes from Les Brown, an author and motivational speaker. If you compare the quote to the one from Lisa Nichols, during an appearance in the movie “The Secret”, you will see that they are very similar.
Practically every motivational speaker in the world will tell you that you can use the power of your mind to become who you want to be and have the life that you want. Having a positive attitude in the work place is just one recommended starting point.
One of the more famous positive attitude quotes comes from a Saturday Evening Post writer, Herm Albright. He said, “Having a positive attitude may not solve all of your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.”
Of course, we would hope that having a positive attitude in the work place would rub off on other people, not rub them the wrong way. But, think about what fun it would be to annoy the “negative Nancy” in your office, assuming that’s not you.
Remember that people who go through life never expecting anything good to happen are not successful. They will always be miserable. There are some people that you cannot help, because they do not want to change. A few positive attitude quotes probably won’t make a difference, but don’t let those people frustrate you.
Enjoy your life. Be grateful and happy. Have a positive attitude in the work place, because you know that thinking about good things makes good things happen.
