To be successful in life – indeed to be successful AT life, it is imperative to develop positive attitude. A positive attitude is the single most shared quality amongst the most successful people in the world. These people live and breathe positively. Spend some time in their company and you will soon believe – as they do – that nothing is impossible for them. There is nothing they can’t do, there is nothing they can’t posses. It has been estimated that thoughts flow through our minds at a rate of 600 words per minute – thats ten thoughts every second and because its human nature to worry, the majority of these thoughts may be negative in nature. Negative thoughts will create a negative attitude and a negative attitude will create a negative life. Negative thoughts are the weeds in the garden of your mind. If you want a beautiful garden you must ruthlessly root out these weeds. If you do not, they will surely take over the entire garden.

Be aware of your thoughts. Any negative thoughts – whether you believe them to be realistic or not – must be dismissed and followed by a mental command such as “Stop” this method is known amongst psychologists, appropriately enough, as “thought stopping”

Immediately following the “stop” command reframe your thought in a positive light, or substitute for a different positive thought.
