Emotional freedom technique or EFT, is one of the most effective tools used by therapists and mental health specialists all over the world to reduce stress and anxiety, remove constant worries, prevent and treat depression, and cause a variety of lifestyle diseases all over the world. It is a technique, developed by life coach Gary Craig over 20 years ago, originating from the thought field therapy technique, in which important meridians or pressure points on the body are lightly tapped, or applied pressure on, to reduce bodily stress and help in better flow of nerve impulses.
Think of EFT or emotional freedom technique as acupuncture without the needles. The Chinese, in acupuncture, realized that particular portions of the body are extra sensitive, and stimulating them, by puncturing with needles, as in acupuncture, or just by tapping them, as in EFT, can help reduce a bodyâ€™s stress levels, improve blood flow, improve response to stimuli, and lighten depression or hyper anxiety. Thanks to this, people undergoing EFT, since needles can be scary and dangerous, feel more â€˜freeâ€™ and able to appreciate the brighter side of life.
Eft can be practiced at home, and does not require fancy equipment or expensive treatment. It takes just a few minutes every day, and can be done in the middle of a hectic work schedule.
However, eft is not a substitute for medical aid, so even after doing eft, if you still think you need help, then, go to a certified medical professional. That way, you can have the best of both worlds- the fancy medical and the easy to do treatment!
EFT also has a kind of â€˜trickle downâ€™ effect, if a person uses it to improve one aspect of their life and health, then it also, in most cases, helps improve other aspects. An EFT practicing person gains emotional freedom, new perspective, greater attention to detail, and this all helps the person do better in educational and work sectors of their life. They might even help you deal with that annoying relative you just have to spend time with at Christmas!
