One of the things I enjoy about running is the fact I can do it alone. It gives me the opportunity to think and releases the stresses of my day. I used to leave the house with nothing on me except my MP3 player and my house key. However, in the back of my mind would be thinking "what would happen if I had an accident?" This was until I found out about Cram-Alert.
When you go for a jog you might not think to take ID or a mobile phone with you, I personally find it really annoying running with anything in my pockets. But what would happen if you did have an accident? How would anyone know who to contact? If it's serious, how would anyone know if you have any medical conditions that will affect your treatment?
Sadly this is what happened to athlete Steve Cram's brother while he was on a training run. Steve's brother Kevin tragically died while he was out running and the family still don't really know what happened. What made it worse was the fact that he had no ID on him and so the emergency services had no way of knowing who he was or who to call about the accident. This led Steve to team up with Alert ID Group to create a product that will stop this happening.
Cram-Alert wristbands have been created with runners, cyclers and adventurers in mind. They are comfortable, lightweight and carry as much information about yourself as you want to divulge. On the wristband you will find a unique ID number that is registered online. You can then add information about yourself, such as your address, phone number and medical information, as well as your next of kin and the people you wish to be contacted in the case of an emergency.
You will also find a telephone number on your wristband. When someone calls this number they will be put through to a 24/7 Emergency Support Team who can then bring up your details. If you have any conditions that will affect treatment, an allergy to penicillin for example, these can be relayed to paramedics. The Emergency Support Team will also continue to call everyone listed until each person has been informed of the accident and explain the next steps.
Cram-Alert offers a great service that will provide peace of mind to runners and their family members 24/7. As well as wristbands, you can protect your property with Cram-Alert luggage tags, key fobs and property badges. Each product is priced at £9.97 and includes the first year's registration free of charge. For each additional product purchased you will also receive 40% off, not much for providing you with peace of mind!
